It takes a special type of person to deliver live in care in someone else’s home. And to be on hand 24 hours a day, delivering the exact level of high quality support that their client needs – all with the heart to care.
Grace is one of those special people.
Like all our experienced and professional live-in care workers, Grace makes sure her clients get all the support they need, in exactly the way they need it, making a real difference to their quality of life.
That could be helping them get up and about in the morning, accompanying them to appointments, helping out with household tasks, and, above all, delivering high quality personalised care.
Our live-in care service means clients can retain their independence and make their own decisions about how to live their life, all from comfort and safety of their own home with treasured memories and possessions all around them.
Grace’s story
Originally from the Philippines, Grace joined Agincare after she found herself looking for a job. Live-in care support suited Grace at the time, and nine and a half years later she’s still delivering high quality care in people’s homes, helping them live fulfilling lives, and giving peace of mind to them, their families and loved ones.
Grace delivered live-in care for clients around the country, including London, for Agincare before settling down with our South West team.
After beginning her care career in long term placements, Grace decided to build her experience and challenge herself by supporting clients who need short term support, and also provides cover for Agincare’s live-in care team when, and where, it’s needed.
Grace is a naturally happy and positive person, who enjoys meeting and supporting the people she works with.
The live-in carer life
Grace says:
Seeing people happy makes my heart sing.
It’s more than looking after people’s personal care needs, it’s about building relationships and trust. It’s not a job, it doesn’t feel like I’m working.
I’m so proud of what I do, it’s normal for people to get old and need care. We care, that’s what we do.
On a recent placement, Grace’s live in care client Tracey loved to get out and about in the local area, and the pair’s trips included a visit to Upwey Wishing Well and Gardens in Weymouth. The day out gave them the chance to fill up on fresh air, spring flowers and no doubt a cuppa too!
After nine and half years in the job Grace knows what it takes to be a live-in care worker, she says:
I’m really, really happy.
Live-in care provides some very rewarding career opportunities, and you get to meet some amazing people and build relationships with them.
I’m learning all the time, it takes guts to be a live-in care worker, you really get to know yourself and mentally grow stronger and stronger with confidence all the time.
I love working with Agincare. It’s a vocation for me.
You care, so do we
Like Grace, our care workers come from all walks of life with a range of backgrounds and life stories, and are carefully matched to their clients. They are all experienced, highly trained and professional, but have one thing in common – they have the heart to care.
What starts as a job with a stranger often grows into a strong bond of friendship between carer, client and their family.
There’s also the job satisfaction of making a very real and valuable difference to those cared for – an emotional reward that you can’t put a price on.
The benefits of a career in live-in care with Agincare are also rewarding too, including:
- Accommodation and food provided

- Permanent guaranteed hours contracts available
- A rewarding career, supporting clients to live life to the fullest
