We’re delighted to announce that our South Devon End of Life Project, which is part of our live-in care service, has won Home Care Team of the Year in the Great British Care Awards.
The team picked up the top award for the southwest region at a special ceremony at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol, and now progresses to the national final on the 25th of September at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
The Great British Care Awards pay tribute to teams and individuals across the UK that have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
In recognising the team’s achievements, judges said:
A dedicated and inspirational group of care professionals. They support one another to provide the very best care and wellbeing.
Based in Torquay, the South Devon End of Life Team works closely with Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust to deliver the support that enables people to spend their final days at home surrounded by their family, friends, memories and possessions.
Manager Loredana Sima said:
I’m very proud of the whole team, and delighted that we won the Great British Home Care Team of Year award for the southwest region. All of the team, each and every one, is so dedicated.
End of life care is very challenging and rewarding, where we work 10 hour shifts in rotation in what can clearly be very tough circumstances for everyone involved.
The job requires a special type of person who is dedicated, empathetic and passionate about delivering excellent care from the heart every single day.
We are all very hopeful that we have a good chance of winning at the national awards in September. I’m sure that there are many special entries but hope that just how much we care about what we do shines through.
The team is part of our live-in care service, whose Operations Director Sam Mayes added:
Congratulations to the South Devon End of Life Team for winning the Great British Care Awards.
I’m so very proud of what they’ve achieved. It’s so well deserved, they’re an outstanding team in every way, and we’re honoured to have them here at Agincare.
Our live-in care service is very flexible to meet a wide variety of needs, both for self-funding clients and commissioning organisations.
Now over ten years old, the Great British Care Awards are a leading awards scheme backed by Care England, Department of Health & Social Care, Alzheimer’s Society, Care Talk, Social Care Institute for Excellence, The National Care Forum and other sector organisations.
The awards are all inclusive, bringing together the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors, as well as unpaid carers; and aim to promote joint working.
Is live-in care right for me?
Our live-in care service is very flexible to meet a wide variety of needs, both for self-funding clients and commissioning organisations.
For a lot of people, live-in care is a new concept in care.
Other types of care, such as residential and nursing homes, or domiciliary care, are much more familiar.
However, if you need full-time professional care, but want to remain at home, then live-in care could be the ideal solution for you.
With live-in care, a professional and carefully-matched care worker comes to live in your home. They’re on hand to deliver 24 hour home care, giving a consistent level of high quality care in the comfort and security of your own home.
Our professional and experienced carers provide live-in care for people of all ages with a variety of attention needs and dependency levels, helping them to live comfortably in their own home.
This enables you to live independently and on your own schedule, while also enjoying the presence of your family, friends and neighbours.
A care worker will also keep you company, giving your family and friends peace of mind, knowing help is on hand 24/7.
Agincare can help for the short term or long term, through a personalised plan created via our comprehensive care assessments.
Our live-in care is fully managed
What makes our live in care service special is that we fully manage it, so you know that there’s always a professional care agency managing your care, or that of a loved one.
There are many live-in care introductory agencies out there who, for the same price, offer far less protection and fewer guarantees of the quality of care.
We are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission, which gives a higher level of protection and peace of mind.
We guarantee the training, supervision and support of all of our care staff and care managers. And we’re always at the end of a phone should you need support or have any questions.
