A long-held ambition for Cordelia House
Cordelia House, our care home in Fareham, Hampshire, has been rated ‘Good’ following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – the independent healthcare body that regulates health and social care in England.
The report saw the care home rated ‘Good’ in four key areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, and Well-Led, with the Responsive category given a rare ‘Outstanding’ rating: bestowing Cordelia House an overall ‘Good’ rating in a report published 12 January.
Most importantly, the report found that residents of Cordelia Care Home receive a consistently high standard of care, supported by a dynamic people-first approach to the service.
Everyone the inspectors spoke to, which included relatives of residents and external professionals, gave positive feedback about the dedicated, professional and supportive care team.

A family-owned success story
Agincare was founded in 1986 by Chairman Derek Luckhurst, in turn Cordelia House Care Home is owned by Derek’s three sons: Simon, Adam and Piers (pictured above) – maintaining the family-centred ethos of the organisation for the next generation.
Since taking over the care home three years ago, the brothers have set about transforming Cordelia House from the ground-up. Now with a dedicated, professional care team and improved infrastructure, Cordelia House has its first ‘Good’ CQC report under the new management – marking a significant improvement from the previous ownership.
