Frequently asked questions
Whether you are joining Agincare as a Registered Manager or Care Worker, you have access to funded training, apprenticeships and careers advice from Agincare Training.
All care workers will complete the Selection Assessment/Induction training prior to starting their employment. This is a three-day course covering the nationally recognised standards of the Care Certificate. Care workers are also required to complete mandatory training each year which is accessible through the Agincare Learning Pool platform.
Whatever stage of your career journey you are at, Agincare Training can support you. As part of Agincare you have access to their full range of learning opportunities and careers advice. If you already work for Agincare, talk to your line manager about what training you would like. They can then support you to find the right option and introduce you to the Agincare Training team.
Your apprenticeship will last between 15 and 18 months, depending on your contracted working hours.
You will have an Information, Advice and Guidance session with your Learning and Development Coaches before enrolling onto the apprenticeship. Within this session you and your Teaching and Learning Coach will both agree an end date for your apprenticeship. Following this, you will have ongoing sessions with your TALC to discuss your progress and work you need to complete.
All care courses are bespoke and are designed to meet your training needs whilst also suiting your schedule.
Short courses can be as long as half a day to a full week or as refresher training.
To be eligible for an apprenticeship, you must:
– Have the right to work in the UK.
– Be 16 years or older after the last Friday in June of the academic year.
– Not be enrolled on another apprenticeship, or another funded FE/HE programme at the same time as the apprenticeship.
– Have a contract of employment with your employer and be paid at least the apprenticeship wage in your first year
All Agincare team members have access to funded apprenticeships, short courses and e-learning modules, provided by our in-house training specialists, Agincare Training.
In addition to this, our care workers complete mandatory training and refresher courses on modules such as:
– Medication Management
– Information Governance
