Agincare Founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst opened his first care home in Weymouth in 1986. Since then Agincare has grown to become one of the largest independent care providers in the UK.
We employ 4,000 fully trained team members at over 85 locations to deliver high-quality personalised care nationwide.
Regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we work in partnership with major public sector organisations including local authorities and the NHS, and deliver care and support for many private clients too. Our fully managed services include retirement villages, residential care and nursing homes, supported and assisted living as well as domiciliary care and 24-hour tailored live-in care at home.

Vision, Mission and Values
Our Vision
We have our sights set on excellence.
Agincare works to achieve a sector-leading and reputable national presence through largely self-funded geographical expansion, and innovating and diversifying our services.
Our Mission
To continue our sustainable growth of many years by providing a holistic range of high-quality community care services nationally and honouring the gravity of this responsibility to each team member and to the people who we support.
Our Values
These underpin all that we do and reflect what we at Agincare strive for in our goal of continuous improvement.
- Value our customers and fellow team members
- Achieve our goals and aspirations
- Learn and encourage a culture of knowledge, expertise and accountability
- Understand our business, our customers and fellow team members
- Excel in everything we do with a skilled, agile and proud workforce
Part of the family
Unlike many other care companies, despite our success and rapid growth, Agincare remains family-owned with no external investors.
Our continued growth and national presence are through self-funded expansion and diversification of services driven by people with a passion for what they do.
The Luckhurst family isn’t planning on selling out. And with no exit strategy planned, the three sons of our founder Derek Luckhurst are taking a leading role in the organisation, having learnt care from the ground up.
An innovative vision for the future of care
Agincare Founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst opened his first care home in 1986 after spotting the need for a new style of care home. One which offered high-quality, personalised and affordable care at a time when many other care homes offered their residents minimal facilities in soulless buildings.
Fast forward to today, and Agincare has grown to operate many homes and new services nationwide, all built on the same ethos of delivering high-quality, personalised and affordable care.
Agincare’s future is bright
Agincare continues to evolve as demand for care changes, emerging as one of the largest independent care groups in the country.
We are committed to growing organically and sustainably in years to come, providing peace of mind for those who draw on our services and their loved ones, as well as everyone who builds their career with us.
Benefits of a large care group
Agincare is one of the few providers nationwide that offer a comprehensive range of care options. It’s how we can tailor your care to you in a way few others can.
Being part of a large care organisation also helps us foster a learning culture across the whole group. Lessons and improvements from one part of the organisation can be shared through every part of Agincare. We know that our team members are our greatest asset, and our in-house training partner Training Now, which is rated Good by Ofsted and endorsed by Skills for Care, oversees our teams’ professional development, and works with other care organisations too.
You’re in good hands…
Having contacted Agincare about a relative who required significant care, I can thankfully say that the whole team at Agincare have been tremendous. From Mike at HQ who assisted with assessing care needs and finding the resources, Hazel who guided us around new surroundings, the catering team who provide wonderfully nutritious and appealing food throughout the day to the wonderful nurses who really care for their guests, Tara, as the medical lead, who is able to ask all sorts of questions, and Ed who has sorted out the entertainment.

As soon as I stepped inside Gorseway Park Nursing Home I sensed a friendly caring atmosphere, and I knew that my husband would be well looked after and in safe hands. The staff could not be more professional and helpful to both my husband and myself and nothing too much bother for them. Every resident has their own room and is encouraged to bring personal belongings to make it their home. I can relax knowing that my husband is being cared for 24/7.

We needed a live in carer urgently. Everything was dealt with swiftly, efficiently and professionally. Within seven days the carer moved in. Very pleased with Agincare. All the staff have been so helpful and the carer matched to my father was excellent.
